Mold Validation – Rubber & Plastic Tools
Our in-house mold validation is a major benefit and allows us to make changes that may be necessary to the gates, runners or metal fittings prior to shipment. LTD can also supply first-piece samples and short runs along with process parameters to assist with the launch of your project. Customers often are on site for the trial, and for those who cannot be present, LTD will sample the mold along with the video of the process and submit for approval.
Tool Transfers
LeRoy Tool & Die works with our customers to make this challenging task as easy as is possible for a single tool or multiple tools. Upon request, LTD will make a thorough assessment of the tooling/process and make recommendations before presenting a proposal and taking action.
Prototyping
Depending on the scope of the project, LTD can offer multiple solutions for a “prototype” tool in the form of design, material and number of cavities.
LTD can serve as an efficient one-stop shop with the ability to machine the metals that are required for rubber-to-metal bonded prototype parts or rubber overmolded prototype parts. For rubber overmold to plastic we can design and build the plastic mold and run sample parts, delivering a complete package from a single source!
Mold Pick-Up & Delivery
To further assist our customers who are facing a deadline and require expedited service, LTD operates a fleet of 5 medium-duty trucks that can pick up or deliver your tool(s) to you.
Mold Repair & Engineering Changes
Here at LeRoy Tool & Die we also offer rubber & plastic mold repair services, even for molds built on the outside (including offshore tools). We can modify rubber and plastic molds that have been in service, or new molds that require modifications due to an engineering change. We have the capability to accommodate engineering changes on plastic tools up to a 1,500 ton press size.
