LTD’s core business is building rubber molds and equipment.
We build rubber injection, transfer and compression molds. Over the years, we have built 1,000s of molds. Some of the rubber molds we produce include:
- Boots and bellows
- Air ducts
- Rubber bonded to metal
- Rotating core bar molds
- Coldrunner molds
- Loading and knock out boards for the rubber molds
- Press frames for rotating core bars or shuttle core bars
- Part removal tools
- Prototype and production molds
We have 2 REP presses for sampling most molds. One is a REP 400 ton and the other is a REP 150 ton.
We have built many of these type of molds over the years from prototype to production. Many of them have rotating core bars or shuttle plates for faster cycle times. We also build many with split core design for easy removal of parts off the core.
We offer 2 types of coldrunner designs for our rubber tooling. One is a solid block design and the other is a split coldrunner for easy cleaning. In addition, we build the press frames to mount the rotating core bars or shuttle systems. For ease of removal, we build removal tools from a simple cup to automatic air operated.
We have built several of these types of molds that come with hardened bite inserts so no flash gets around the metal. A lot of these types of molds are a split bar design with either hornpins/cams or cylinders that actuate the bars. We provide the knock out plates and loading boards for these types of tools as well.
On our prototype molds we often machine the metals that are getting overmolded so the customer has to only go to one shop. When we have a rubber to plastic application we often build the plastic mold and run the parts so the customer receives the entire package at one facility. There is guaranteed quality and reliable service, as we will handle every aspect of the customer’s job.
Many grommets are either transfer or compression molded. We build many transfer and compression molds from 1 cavity to 500+ cavities.
We also handle engineering changes and repairs on other toolmakers tools or overseas tools. If you are having a problem with an existing tool, we are happy to visit your facility and advise how to make your mold run more efficiently. If needed, we can have staff available at your facility or ours for sampling.
